Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the results. Lamar County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email submission is retained as needed to prepare and send a response. Messages remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by a binding legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the servers may automatically receive several technical details about that visit:
- The date and time attached to each page view
- Your device category and operating system
- The referring website, when one is available
- Your browser type and version
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The Internet Protocol address associated with your device
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure how visitors move through the site, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic information into broader usage reports. You can refuse cookies through your browser settings, although disabling them may change how some site functions behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Lamar County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a collection of personal criminal-record data. Its content identifies the custodians of Lamar County records and describes access through the sheriff, court clerks, the GBI's Georgia Crime Information Center, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Information about visitors is not used to create consumer reports or criminal-record files for other parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a search tool is therefore governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review the applicable partner policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Georgia agency resources, legal-aid organizations, or outside search services. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy terms control the visit. Check those terms before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across multiple websites to select targeted advertising. That processing occurs within the provider's systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may nevertheless be available to the following recipients:
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that serve ads on site pages
- Search providers that process queries submitted through their tools
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and site performance
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly accepted security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, however, so the site cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person younger than 18. If information from a minor is brought to our attention, it will be deleted promptly.
Your Data Rights
The rights available to you depend on the law governing your information. Georgia's Fair Business Practices Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 10-1-390 through 10-1-407, addresses unfair or deceptive consumer conduct. The Georgia Open Records Act instead governs records in the custody of public offices and does not control visitor data held by a private website. Subject to applicable law, you may request to:
